Despite giving up 20 points in the first quarter to a strong Warrior offense, CBC scored 15 of their own to keep it close. Montelongo attack the rim frequently, resulting in 8 points early on.
Heading into half, the Hawks kept it to a 7-point Warrior lead. Timely rebounding and defense allowed Basin to hold Walla Walla in check for a chance to close later in the game.
Walla Walla was able to stretch their lead out by the end of the Third with a 24 point quarter lead by Jessica Cheney's 10 points. Basin continued to fight hard in the Fourth, getting the lead back down to 6 but fell just short on time.
The loss mathematically eliminates them from playoff competition for 2020 but they will get one more chance to take the court on the road against North Idaho on Wednesday February 26th.
