Box Score GAME 1 FINAL SCORE: Columbia Basin 8 Blue Mountain 3
CBC scratched a win in game 1 against Blue Mountain on Thursday 8-3.
Kirby Robertson earned the win on the mound going 6 innings and giving up just 3 runs.
Devon Garner went 1-4 with a 3-run home run in the 8th.
Nick Grade also finished 2-4 from the plate.
CBC jumped out ahead early with a 4-1 lead heading into the 6th. Robertson briefly lost his command surrendering 2 runs on the inning before being pulled. He was able to drive in a run on a sac fly in the 6th to push the lead back to 5-3 before Garner's big fly in the 8th sealed the victory for the Hawks.
GAME 2 FINAL SCORE: Columbia Basin 11 Blue Mountain 3
The Hawks kept the bats rolling in game two scoring 11 runs in the contest.
Evan Devolve finished 3-3 from the plate with a double and a 3-run home run of his own. Grade also homered in the game for CBC. Starter Jase Wessels also went 6 innings in the winning effort for CBC. After Blue Mountain tied the game up at 2-2 in the fourth inning, Basin proceeded to score 3 in the 5th 2 in the 6th and 2 in the 8th.
Cody Kehl also had 2 doubles in the game and scored a run of his own. CBC's bullpen had a fantastic showing on the day giving up just 1 run combined. The outing was a positive one after an 0-4 week against Spokane. The Hawks will travel to Blue Mountain to finish the 4-game series with the Timberwolves on Sunday.
