All teams sweep through NJCAAE Week 5 for Esports

CBC Tekken 8 picked up another win against NEO, due to a forfeit, and had to reschedule two games due to server maintenance.

CBC Rocket League matched up against Pratt Community College and WSU Tech – Black for week 5 of NJCAAE Spring Season. Starting off with Pratt CC, both CBC and PCC showed fight, with game 1 resulting in a close 2-1 victory for the Hawks. In game 2, Pratt took an early 1-0 goal lead, but CBC struck back quickly with a goal from PremiereBump and assist from Leaf, followed by another assist from Leaf to Brigamortis1881. Game 2 the Hawks were able to close it out with a 2-goal lead, with final score being 4-2. With game 3 having the score tied at 2-2 with half of the match to go, the Hawks were able to rally and win 4-2 and acquire the 3-0 sweep for the series. Match 2 against WSU Tech – Black showed the hawks striking quickly in game one with a 7-2 victory. In game 2, WSU Tech showed that they were going to make it more interesting, by picking up a game 2 victory with the score of 5-3. Noticing the team looking off, head coach Joel Harvey called a timeout to regroup. After the timeout, the Hawks came out soaring with a 5-1 game 3 victory, followed by a 2-0 goal victory game 4, winning the series 3-1.

CBC Valorant matched up against Blinn Community College for the final week of the regular season, with the winner securing the 3rd seed in the region before going into National Playoffs. The first map took both teams to "Pearl." The conclusion of map 1 resulted in the Hawks running away with the game early, then closing it out with the final score of 13-8. Map 2 the teams traveled to "Haven," a common map pick for the Hawks. Beginning off, both teams traded rounds, with a tie occurring at round 4, sitting at 2-2. Blinn went on a shot 3-0 run before the Hawks were able to pick up a round, taking the score to 3-5. Going into the half, CBC were able to secure another 2 rounds, making the score 5-7 for the swap. With the swap, Blinn found the first 2 rounds with the advantage, pushing the score to 6-9. The Hawks found themselves down 6-11, 2 rounds away from going to map 3, but CBC were able to go on 3-0 run, forcing a timeout by Blinn. After the timeout, Blinn were able to win the round, taking it to match point, 9-12. CBC, at the edge of going to map 3, gathered and went on a successful 3-0 run to take map 2 into overtime rounds. All the way into a triple overtime situation, CBC were able to close out map 2 with a 16-14 victory and secured the 3rd seed into National Playoffs.

CBC Overwatch closed out their regular season with a match against Trinity Valley Community College. In map 1, the hawks swiftly defeated TVCC with a 2-0 win on control, both being 100% to 0%. Map 2 and map 3 also resulted in swift victories for CBC, which concluded in a 3-0 sweep series win, finishing 2nd seed going into regional playoffs.
