CBC Tekken 8 matched up against an anticipated game against Salt Lake Community College and player "Eyeswideshut." In the first 2 rounds, SLCC got a quick advantage with 2 3-0 round wins. After a timeout, Punkcakes was about to take an induvial round, but SLCC were able to close the series out 3-0, giving CBC Tekken 8 their first loss on the season. Going into match 2 against Union College, CBC were looking to get it going and pick up a win. Puncakes came out swinging, with a quick 3-1 round win in game 1. CBC was then able to find a win in a close game 2, going to round 5, and secure the 3-0 series sweep in a game 3 win. Still sitting in the 1st seed in the regular season, CBC will look to secure that with winning out the rest of the season.
CBC Rocket League doubler-header was against Barton Community College (BCC) and Laramie County Community College (LCCC). Starting off against Barton CC, both teams showed excellent defense in the first game, but the Haws struck first at the halfway mark with the first goal. With 31 seconds left, BCC found the net with a goal to tie it at 1-1. With the first game going to overtime, CBC found a quick goal early on, taking the lead 1-1. The rest of the series would be similar, with the Hawks winning game 2 with the score of 3-2, BCC winning game 3 at 3-5, and the Hawks closing out game 4 after battling back into OT and winning 2-1. In game 1, with CBC with a early 3-1 lead, LCCC were able to come back and win the first game 3-4. CBC Hawks gave no more games up however, and won the next 3 games (9-5, 3-2, and 2-1). To close out the series win 3-1.
CBC Valorant started off in round 1 of NJCAAE National Playoffs as the #5 seed, paired up against #4 Marshalltown Community College (MCC). In the first map "Pearl," picked by MCC, CBC found a slow start, with MCC taking the first 2 rounds. However, CBC went on a 5-0 run, forcing a time out by Marshalltown. After the timeout, MCC clutched a round, stopping the run for the Hawks. CBC were able to take advantage into the half-time, with the round score being 8-4. Battling it out and only giving up 3 rounds, the Hawks were able to win map 1 with a score 13-7. Going into map 2 "Breeze," MCC found a quick 7-0 lead, and an 9-3 advantage. CBC were unable to make the comeback, falling on map 2 with a score of 13-3. CBC though brought the heat on map 3 "Haven" with a flawless defense round, with a 12-0 advantage and match point into the swap. After giving up 2 rounds and getting a full-buy of items in, CBC secured the 13-2 map win, and advancement to the NJCAAE National Playoff Semifinals.
