On the second of back to back home games, Columbia Basin looked to try and even the weekend out with another win.
Ali Martineau lead the way for the Hawks with 12 points for the night on only 9 shots.
Sami Sanders posted another double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while adding 4 assists.
North Idaho starting the game in a full-court press that lead to a few trouble spots for the Hawk backcourt but
Allexus Montelongo and Martineau were able to steady the ship. Columbia Basin shot 40% on the period lead by
Raequel Domebo who scored 5 off the bench in the quarter.
All season long the Hawks have produced 3 great quarters but stumble in one of them. After climbing back ahead by 2 points, North Idaho put together a 10-2 run to take a 28-23 lead at the half outscoring CBC 14-9 in the period.
Coach Smith's team came out swinging in the second half lead by Montelongo who drained a pair of Three's with the shot clock winding down to help the Hawks cut it to 2.
Despite a good run late, a few calls did not go their way as North Idaho was able to convert a couple of And-1's in the final minutes to stretch their lead to 7 which would ultimately be the final margin.
CBC drops to 2-4 in league after the two losses but will look to rebound on the road against Treasure Valley on Wednesday the 22nd. They will continue on the road Saturday against undefeated Walla Walla.
