Both Men's and Women's Golf kicked off their spring season with a home invitational at Meadow Springs against a large field of NWAC and NAIA schools including Bellevue and Spokane.
On the men's side, the Hawks came out displaying great course knowledge, jumping to an early lead on the 36-hole Day 1.
Jake Raymond and
Garric Shirrod carried the way for CBC, turning in Top 15 performances with Raymond overcoming a rough first day to finish tied for 11th on the weekend. As a team, CBC finished in 4th place with a +88.
For the women,
McKenzie Stanley and
Beyora King were steady to pace the Hawks, finishing the 3-day event at +59 and +60 respectively. A great first day as a team helped the Hawks finished tied with Bellevue at +184, good for best NWAC score behind Montana Tech and Carroll College. King had her best day to open the tournament in the top 6 after firing a 91. Stanley posted a field-best 83 on the final day to roar back into a top 10 finish.
Both teams will continue on with league play down at Bandon Dunes for the SW Oregon league match on April 13th and 14th as they continue the hunt for another NWAC Championship.
