In 1971, CBC Wrestling went undefeated, crowning four champions at the NWAACC Finals. By the end of 1972, CBC was riding a streak of 35 straight wins, culminating in back-to-back NWACC wrestling titles.Â
CBC outscored their opponents 1,166-190 over two years.
The 1972 wrestling team finished the season with the most dominant team performance in league history.
With a total team score of 111.5, CBC finished 37.5 points ahead of the second place team. This represents the largest margin of victory in the history of the NWAACC Wrestling Championships.
CBC qualified nine team members, across ten weight classes, for the finals. At the end of the tournament, seven of nine were crowned State Champions in their weight classes. Two other qualifiers, Bruce Beamon (190 lbs - Second) and Mike Miller (158 lbs - Third) were able to add points to the team total.
