Len Pyne coached Men’s Golf at CBC for 15 years (1971-85).
During that span the team played in 75 tournaments, primarily against four-year schools.
CBC claimed 45 tournament titles, finishing as runner up in another 17 tournaments.
During this 15 year span, CBC’s record in Men’s Golf stood at 1,202-169, claiming eight NWAACC Championships.
The 1979 CBC golf team set the standard for all other NWAACC schools to be measured. The overall win-loss record of 146-7 is the best in the history of the program, winning seven of nine tournaments entered, while finishing second in the other two. In 1979 CBC's record against four-year schools stood at 104-7.
Eight different players were recognized with Medalist Honors in 1979 as Chris Isaacson, Steve Wilcox, Rod Marcum, Jim Thomas, Dave Jasper, Scott Bullek, and Mark Gardner all won top honors at tournaments during the season. Craig Schuh won top honors five times, including at the NWAACC Championships.
CBC claimed the NWACC Championship in 1979 by dominating the tournament field, finishing 25 strokes ahead of the second place team.
Head Coach Len Pyne told often said second-best college team in the Northwest in 1979 were the six players in any given tournament who did not make the first team cut.
